As the calendar year closes, we’re taking a moment to celebrate a year of tremendous growth and innovation at Ednition. Our mission has always been to remove the technical friction that stands between educators and powerful data, and this year, we launched an entire suite of features designed to make integration simpler, faster, and more intelligent than ever before.
Here are the Top 10 Product Releases that powered our partners' success and transformed the way data moves in K-12 education:
We revolutionized district onboarding with the new Connection Request wizard. This feature allows you to send a simple link, enabling districts to follow a guided, self-service process to select their SIS and complete setup. The best part? It can be completely asynchronous. Through the Communications view, you gain continuous visibility into the status of every request (sends, opens, completions, and help requests), allowing you to monitor confidently and reserve video conferences only for districts that need explicit, high-touch support.
We put the power of data source automation directly in your hands. The expanded RosterStream API allows you to manage your entire onboarding and rostering integration lifecycle programmatically.
Data confidence is key. We introduced History of a Record, giving you a complete, auditable history for every single entity in your system (Org, Course, User, etc.). Use the View Data screen to instantly track exactly when and how a record was created, updated, or deleted, giving you total confidence in your data’s journey and simplifying compliance checks.
We unified the two most critical data silos—the SIS and the LMS—with LMS Link. This feature simplifies your integration strategy with a single connection to platforms like Canvas, Schoology, and Google Classroom. LMS Link enables seamless assignment creation, grade passback, and resource sharing, unifying both SIS and LMS integrations into a single, streamlined solution. This is essential for partners who want to move faster without juggling multiple integration standards.
Say goodbye to manual mapping headaches! RosterAI brings the power of generative AI directly into RosterStream. This service automatically maps complex CSV data coming from any Student Information System (SIS) to standardized schemas like OneRoster. RosterAI eliminates the complexity of manual K-12 integrations, allowing you to instantly onboard data without specialized knowledge. Read more about RosterAI on our blog.
Rostering is just the beginning. Extended Data allows you to move beyond core student/class data by bringing in crucial supplementary information, all aligned to the Ed-Fi Data Standard.
This year, we significantly expanded our support to include:
Extended Data supplements your core data, ensuring your applications receive a more complete, contextual view of every student and school.
Say goodbye to bottlenecks. Parallel Publishing breaks out your publishing workflow by data source. Now, if one source encounters an issue, it won’t hold up the rest. Each data source runs independently, giving you more control, greater visibility, and enhanced resilience in your publishing workflows. Plus, with the new App Publishing Status View, you can now see every Data Source connected to an app and monitor the publishing status of each one in real time.
We empowered engineering teams with the flexibility to get RosterStream notifications to any of their internal systems. We enabled new Webhook Notifications, so your team can automate custom workflows based on critical data events. This includes the new Publisher Sync Completion notification, ensuring your downstream systems only kick off reports or processes when the data is 100% current and fully delivered. Read more on our blog about how teams are automating their workflows with Webhook Notifications.
We added critical data source scheduling control with Sync Pause. You now have the ability to create one-to-many pause windows globally or for individual data sources. This feature allows you to temporarily stop roster syncs during specific timeframes, making school year rollover time easier, more predictable, and helping you prevent errant data flows during maintenance windows. Read more about pause windows on our blog.
Security isn't just a feature at Ednition — it's the foundation of everything we build. This year, we achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the leading international standard for information security management. This milestone provides independent, rigorous validation that our systems, processes, and team consistently meet world-class security standards.
The certification followed a comprehensive audit of our controls across data governance, access management, infrastructure security, incident response, and business continuity. For our partners, this means you can trust that Ednition protects rostering and extended student data using internationally recognized standards, implements continuous risk assessment and mitigation processes, and undergoes ongoing independent audits to validate compliance. As you take ownership of your rostering and integration pipelines, ISO 27001 certification strengthens confidence that security and interoperability are built into the foundation of RosterStream.
What a year it's been! Each of these features represents real feedback from our partners — challenges you've shared, workflows you've imagined, and roadblocks you've helped us remove. From AI-powered mapping to webhook automation, from async onboarding to multi-region hosting, we've worked to ensure that connecting districts and moving data feels less like a technical hurdle and more like a natural part of serving students.
None of this would be possible without the incredible Ednition community. Thank you for your partnership, your candid feedback, and your trust as we continue to evolve. We're energized by what we've built together in 2025, and we can't wait to show you what's coming in 2026.
Here's to another year of making K-12 integration simpler, smarter, and more powerful for everyone! If you’d like to explore ways to reclaim rostering, own your integrations, and cut costs in 2026, book a demo with us here.
